The Southern Nursery Association ( SNA ) is call for nomination for their yearly awards to be presented at the 2021 SNA Conference . SNA believe manufacture members should be recognise for their imposing talents , sinful service and life achievement . The SNA awards programme is designed to recognize industry professionals for their grand talents , extraordinary service and life accomplishment , and who have demonstrated their commitment to the Southern Nursery Association and the industry through these yearly prize :
Slater Wight Memorial Award – recognizes the individual who , in the belief of the SNA Board , has contributed most to the advancement of the industry in the South and to the welfare of the Southern Nursery Association . nomination and option are made by the SNA Board .
David E. Laird , Sr . Memorial Award – discern qualified youthful men and woman ( ages 39 or younger ) for outstanding service in the field of environmental horticulture and to pop the question inspiration for others starting out in the field . Nominations are accepted from State Associations within the SNA region and accolade recipients are selected by the SNA Board .
SNA Pinnacle Award – recognizes an person within the allied industry who , in the opinion of the SNA Board , has contributed most to the promotion of the industry in the south and to the welfare of the Southern Nursery Association . Nominations and selection are made by the SNA Board .
SNA Environmental Award – recognizes somebody and businesses that have demonstrated exceeding leadership and through their voluntary feat represent stirring , imaginativeness , innovation , leading and action to preserve and protect the surroundings . Nominations are accepted from industry members and recipient are selected by the SNA Board .
Porter Henegar Memorial Award – recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contribution to ornamental horticultural inquiry and , more specifically , to SNA . Nomination and selection are by fellow researchers .
Don Shadow Award of Excellence – recognizes an individual , pot or organization that has provided exemplary table service , leadership and generousness in the development , promotion and function of new and improved landscape plants . receiver must demonstrate a sincere commitment to and cacoethes for boom noesis and use of new and improved plants for the landscape painting . Awardees must also exhibit a strong voluntary and/or service committedness to take better plants to the landscape . Nominations are take from past attendees of the Southern Plant Conference and SNA Members . pick is made by the SNA Board .
SNA Honorary Member Award – honors soul that have served this association and the nursery manufacture in various capacity throughout the years and have made outstanding contributions during their active participation in the Southern Nursery Association . Recipients are constitute and selected by the SNA Board .
