When it come to be simple and with relief , we are delirious to announce our latest project we are building on the farm this year , our single floor cabin house we will call the Timber Stone Ranch Cabin .
When we make up one’s mind to open up up the farm to conciliate overnight stays , we were middling overwhelmed with the reply for those who desire to stay in our original 600 square foot cabin house in the Natalie Wood .
In fact , overwhelmed might be an understatement if that is possible ! We for sure love having guests get to experience the farm and walk trails . And knowing we still had a bit of space for one more “ cabin in the woods ” – we decided to make another space for visitant to enjoy that would have a raw take onliving simpleton .

A look at the mock-up of the Timber Stone Ranch cabin we will be building at the farm this fall. It features a wide open single floor plan with 2 bedrooms and a low maintenance exterior with stone & board and batten metal siding.
As much as we love our little two - story cabin theatre , we realized it might not be perfect for everyone . After all , with the only straight bedroom on the second floor , it can be difficult for those who ca n’t climb .
In addition , although there is a pull - out lounge , receive an choice for a second modest bedroom in the new projection might be a capital added feature film . So , with all of those intellection in idea , we thought it might be the pure time to add one more “ perfect ” little cabin to the mixture .
We expend most of last wintertime and spring looking at hundreds of one story cabin designs . As we did , we know there was a short listing of things we really want to let in to make it just proper !

The completed little cabin house at the farm. The cabin has been a big hit for sure – so much so that we have decided to create another project where visitors to the farm can stay.See: Little Cabin House Cabin Rental
For starters , we wanted a pocket-sized footprint , but one that could still have two bedroom . In addition , we require to add some comfort and cosy features like a hearth and screened in porch .
Last but not least , we wanted a unique design with muckle of humbled upkeep features , but all in a cabin house style that still agree the woodland space backdrop .
With that in mind , here is an in - deepness look at the plan and glasses for our latest project . Once again , Weaver Barnswill be wait on us with finalizing the design and with the habitus . As always , we ca n’t say enough about how much we hump having them assist us land our visual modality to reality !

Now – here is a look at all of the detail of our tardy project , The Timber Stone Ranch Cabin !
The Single Floor Cabin House Project
One of our favourite edifice designs on the farm is our rain shower house . It features a rear roof in situation of a traditional prime top . In fact , we love the smell so much , we replicate it to build the farm ’s service department / marquee last summer .
So when it occur to figuring out a conception for the single base cabin menage , we visualize , why not put two raised ceiling structure together at opposite angles ?
Not only does it give a unique look to the cabin home , it also allows for the interior space to seem subject and big . Even well , it let us add redundant windows at the top side of the turgid raise ceiling section to let light from above fill the main way .

A look at the floor plan of the Timber Stone Ranch Cabin
As with all of the edifice on our farm , depressed or no maintenance is a must ! We once again used stone and our metal board and batten side to clad the exterior . Both are timeless . Both hold up for forty to fifty years . And most significantly , they both match everything we have on the farm already !
For heat and hot water supply we are once again using on an on demand trading floor heating organization . The cost savings and efficiency are just out of this world . In addition , the comfort level of the heat is wonderful , and endless hot water system ? Well , you ca n’t beat it !
We will install a mini - split AC whole to cool down the cabin . A single building block will be more than enough to do the chore . What really makes the split unit of measurement nice is that they also have supplementary heat functions if ever needed .

For water , we will have the ultraviolet light light and water cistern organisation once again with a rainfall collection system powering it all . If the cabin was n’t in the wood , it could easily be completely off - grid if a solar package was summate to it .
The flooring plan for the main field is wide open . The L - kitchen blueprint and the island open to the sitting area , with double door from the kitchen that go out to the screened in porch and patio area .
For the kitchen , we kept all of the appliances full size . give birth full sizing appliances really get a small blank space still seem big . Whenever we travel and stay in rental home base or cabin , we make love having full sizing preparation appliances !

The back patio and view of the woods is what we love most about our first small cabin – and the Timber Stone will have the same feature and view!
The porch and patio was a must . Just as with our other cabin house , it really makes the infinite seem even expectant . It also materialize to overlook the woods and a ravine below . One thing is for certain , it will be a consummate place to enjoy a dinner or evening , and bug free !
The two bedrooms , little bathroom , cascade and wash room all fit into the paired raise roof plane section . At 12 x 10 , the bedrooms are not huge , but why knock off infinite in a quiescence domain ? They both have small cupboard that have a clothes rack up top , and two-fold drawer dressers in the bottom .
The laundry elbow room hold a stackable washer and drier along with extra computer memory outer space . accept the bedchamber closets and a second of extra storage blank space in the laundry room is a must . It keeps the small , single storey cabin house from seeming littered since items can be put out of sight .

We have already cleared the blank space in the Natalie Wood and desire to have the pad poured in the next month or so . From there , it ’s building metre !
We will be updating the onward motion with a few videos on our YouTube channel in the coming months . Once all over , we will update with an article and terminal take the air - through video recording . Hopefully , by former next spring we will have another space to detain and enjoy the farm !
