It ’s hard to trust – but it has been four years since that gloam day in 2010 when we commence to light up the earth to start our little farm .

To observe the day of remembrance – we thought we would lay off and take a look back at the last four years in pictures – from the moment the brushwood was first cleared , right up to this past hebdomad ’s crop .

Although some of the early photos are a little grainy , ( posting pictures for a website was n’t much of persuasion back then 🙂 ) – they all aid to tell the story of OWG .

Fall 2010 – The land finally clear off after mowing
2011 – The First Coop – Garden, and Construction Of The Barn
February 2011 . The first chicken henhouse made from 2 x 4 bit lumber and reclaimed pallets take shape in our driveway . With no electricity at the farm – everything had to be build at the house first .
May 2011 – The first coop is up at the farm – and our first peck of “ girls ” are checking out their newfangled home
Late Spring 2011 – The very first garden . We piled up rows of dirt and create our first raise rows .

Fall 2010 – The land finally cleared off after mowing
former summer 2011 – the farm first pergola is build in the drive and then hauled to the farm .
Early Fall 2011 – The pergola up at the farm , and the first of the landscaping plant are put in
August 2011 – The filth is scraped off and cross off for the barn .

February 2011. The first chicken coop made from 2 x 4 scrap lumber and reclaimed pallets takes shape in our driveway. With no electricity at the farm – everything had to be built at the house first.
August 2011 – congeal perch for the new “ old ” barn . The chicken coop look so lonely behind a mass of grime
2nd hebdomad of August 2011 . Taking a break from our pole setting – we rupture down Dad ’s b with the help of family and acquaintance
Working as we had materials from the old barns – the walls start to take shape of the OWG b

May 2011 – The first coop is up at the farm – and our first flock of “girls” are checking out their new home
Early December 2011 – With a lot of workplace – the roof framing was finally complete !
2012 – The Barn is Completed and The Garden Expands…
January 2012 – The ceiling is installed . We were so lucky to have a soft wintertime that yr – it was the only direction the barn was finished !
Spring 2011 – The private road tardily starts to take shape .
May 2012 – We tot up our compost bins made from pallets , a second set of growing wrangle to the garden and the front fence is install .

Late Spring 2011 – The very first garden. We piled up rows of soil and created our first raised rows.

Summer 2012 – put in the drainpipe roofing tile and back barn landscaping

Early summer 2011 – the farms first pergola is built in the driveway and then hauled to the farm.

2012 – The grapes arrive for planting – the small vineyard is start !
Late summer – 2012 In anticipation of our first b political party – we built the b tabular array from left over barn wood

Early Fall 2011 – The pergola up at the farm, and the first of the landscaping plants are installed
The outdoor kitchen is sum up with reclaimed barn baseball bat and roofing as the physique
August 2012 – Our first Barn Party is held at the farm with family and friends

January 2013 – Winter coke blanket the farm
saltation 2013 – The dearest bees arrived at the farm and we add raising our own bee to the intermixture
The Modern cage is built to expand our poulet flock and provide top security from mink coat , coyote and raccoon

August 2011 – Setting poles for the new “old” barn. The coop looks so lonely behind a mass of dirt

May 2013- The completed coop
June 2013 – our first garden tour is given to the Union County Master Gardeners

2nd week of August 2011. Taking a break from our pole setting – we tear down Dad’s barn with the help of family and friends
2013 – The farm gets an quondam Ford Tractor

Our first class visit to the farm – A group of first graders came to learn all about chicken , honeybees and horticulture

April 2014 – Raising our heirloom tomatoes , common pepper and more from seed .
2014 – We add our driveway peak posts and signs

Spring 2011 – The driveway slowly starts to take shape.
