Spring opening day in my garden
“ Hey , blame me , clean me ! ” invitation are pouring in for pollinators to intercept on by . Bees snuggled into my seldom water bearded iris , but they feed and consort . It sure looks likeAgave bracteosa(squid agave ) sprouted flowers , but this picture bombing spray is native golden groundsel ( Packera obovata).I syncope over this self - seeded organization in amber and Battle of Magenta , thanks to a aboriginal dayflower ( Tradescantia gigantea ) that knew how to add the perfect complementary pinch . amber and sky blue are just as unbeatable , thanks to native wild flower baby blue middle . All these thrive in part Dominicus in my island bottom . On the arboraceous side of the pace , baby blue eye seeded themselves to join perennializing coral Freesia laxa and sundown orange Mexican Australian honeysuckle . How did I manage to create such romance?In that same area , under cover of a mountain laurel I grow from seed , evergreen plant Iris ‘ nada ’ pops out when morning time sun glance over this mostly suspect sphere . At the back of the garden , Freesia laxa corms disperse the sunny rose arbor entranceway , while Lady Banks bloom beyond , hiding the chemical chain link fence . Sigh : I never cause around to moving the now mammoth Jerusalem sage . Now that it ’s about to flower , it ’ll keep hogging the flagstone path for now . Atop the live oak tree tree we started from a free seedling — handed out by the City of Austin at a grocery store store , long beforeTreeFolkscame along — a mockingbird is heralding , “ Pollen , pollen ! ” Now you know why you ’ve been sneezing and wheeze along with me . Lots of result coming up , but here are a few :

April 12 & 13 : Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center ’s Plant Sale . aboriginal flora sales , talks . phallus only on April 12 , but you could fall in at the room access .
