Six on Saturday ! Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything : a flower , a bug , foliation , a shaft , a job to do , a success , a nonstarter , anything at all . Join in , do !

Here are my Six for this calendar week .

1 – Geum ‘ completely tangerine ’ . I always imagine that said in the mid - atlantic interpreter of a teenager . “ it was , like , altogether tangerine dahling ” . I bought one or two of these as great plants in a headway sale last summertime , then promptly divide them . I now have too many , just one of which is planted out in the border . They are all flowering away .

2 – Aquilegia x ‘ greenapples ’ . White - apple more like ! These begin off greenish as they spread out but eventually blow over to livid - ish . They ’re a two-fold flower , resemble clematis , allegedly . I grew these from source last twelvemonth , they did n’t do much then but are coming into their own now . I ’ve a lot of them , not sure if I require to keep them all .

3 – Pittosporum blossom . I did not get laid this shrub flower , I guess I ’ve never looked at it that nearly before . They are bitty and browny - purple . Who jazz ?

4 – blueberry bush flowers . I just have one blueberry bush , it has NEVER fruited . I was going to dig it up to supervene upon with more raspberry canes when I find it is at least doing an impression of inflorescence , give a speck of future yield . I mulch with ericacious compost this class , perhaps that is what made the difference . I will probably get enough yield to have with my food grain for one breakfast . That ’s if the birds do n’t get the first . Perhaps I should dig it up anyway …

5 – Tulip ‘ Queen of the Nox ’ . There ’s very little left of the tulips now . Just queenie here , a few ‘ seadov ’ and the remains of ‘ angelique ’ , who seems to have admirable sticking power .

6 – Allium ‘ somethingorother ” . I think it ’s ‘ majestic sensation ’ , but I ’m not sure . I plant 5 different diverseness last autumn and was a chip quag with my labelling . Once they ’re all up I should have half a chance to figure out which is which . The alliums are take over from the tulips , the spring colour baton has been successfully reach on .
