1 – Helenium ‘ Short n Sassy ’ . Flowering earlier even than Sahin ’s Early Flowerer , this plant is a good actor . It is low - growing , a understructure or so , so brings some useful colour to the front of the border . I comprehend up a clunk and divided it to get 15 or so plants which are now serve on the front line of the louche border ( which set out decent spark most of the twenty-four hours ) .

2 – genuine tomatoes . I ’m very glad about the tomato this year . After a couple of unsatisfying geezerhood owe to a mix of incompetency and blight , it seems I am likely to get a good crop this twelvemonth . I have 10 plants in the greenhouse and another 5 in the sunniest corner of the patio . These tomatoes are on the patio plant , they are further ahead than their greenhouse brethren which get less sunshine . I have a few different potpourri , some cherries , some regular tomato sizing .

3 – Eryngium . I ’m not sure which potpourri these are . I have them in numbers , dissipate through the front and rearward gardens , all the result of generation byroot cuttingssome time back . They are turning emphatically profane just now and will be a bee magnet .

4 – Seedlings . I always care to have some cum on the go , they make me felicitous . These are a mix of biennial and perennial , seed with next twelvemonth in intellect , and annual for a late show this year . start out top left and going clockwise they are :

I have a few others brewing but not yet germinated . I will be pricking out the more enthusiastic seedling this weekend .

5 – Hollyhocks . I grew these from seminal fluid last year . They are planted in a group of 3 or 4 in the front garden . All are the same people of color , a cerise pinko that I think is in all likelihood the nonpayment colour they fall back to . Still , it ’s nice to have them , they give some good height and a jocund colour to the nerve centre of the garden .

6 – Begonia ‘ Garden Angel Blush ’ . One of several plants I buy from Barracott Nursery , draw a bead on for a semi - shady spot . This one seems to have go down in well and should get to 50 or so cm high . It is bone hardy and will be quite felicitous in my garden over the winter , hire rime down to -10 degree c. The leaves are silvery red with a distinct maple - like excision to the leaves . I am attempting to propagate via leaf cut which so far is shew unsuccessful . I will stay to try , ca n’t help myself .

The forecast is not brilliant this weekend , but I shall be out in the garden as usual . I trust you have a great gardening weekend , do n’t block to pop back as more tie-in are added during the solar day . If you do n’t already , I would definitely recommend direct over to Twitter . A fast scroll of the#SixOnSaturdayhashtag will unwrap hundreds of chirrup - only Six post each week , from all over the humanity .

Stay safe , I ’ll be back next weekend with another # SixOnSaturday .
