SixOnSaturday

We still have n’t had a frost here , or not one to verbalise of . sure not a killing icing . I have the itch to cut stuff back , but until the hoar comes it still looks mostly ok . Not excessively untidy , anyway . After the rave revue of my last adorn job ( Mrs P delighted with her reveamped home agency ) , I will be up to my elbows in key again this weekend , so gardening time will be circumscribed . This clip it is my turning , my post was in an even seedy province than hers . While I ’m giving myself a crick in the cervix paint the ceiling , you’re able to do Six on Saturday . Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything , you decide !

Here are my Six for this week …

1 – Salvia ‘ Amante ’ . Another salvia that I ’ll hope will survive the winter in the ground . Futile , believably . I buy three of these the other calendar week , they are still in their pots . I may keep them in the greenhouse like that over the winter and works in the spring .

2 – Daffodils , planted . Last weekend I made some progress through the bulb mountain , get all the daffs interred . Some went in the large wooden containers , some go in 20L tubs on the terrace , and the residual kick the bucket in smaller pots that I have plonked / arranged craftily on the patio table . If this lick well I may get some more elegant pots but these ’ll do for now . As I was taking this picture I noticed that shoots are already poking through . I finger guess .

3 – possible rose blush . We still have not had a grueling hoar , so the roses are still putting out buds . This one is Madame Alfred Carriere .

4 – Malus ‘ Rudolph ’ . I set this tree in the beginning this year . It emerge from its box festooned with blossom . I was looking forward to it being similarly festooned with shiny purple / Orange River crabapples . No such luck . Crap Malus pumila , more same . Perhaps it is n’t happy in its new rest home . The leaves reckon blotchy but that is probable just them dying per normal in Autumn . Could be lacking apples from blossom in a box . We ’ll see how it does next year .

5 – Fatsia japonica . This catch my again this week as I wandered about , scouting for SoS fodder . The little bud on the foreign structure have blossom , giving the whole thing a crisp look . They would n’t stay still long enough for me to snap them , but the whole matter is covered in bee .

6 – Clematis ‘ Nelly Moser ’ . Another plant that does n’t know it ’s mid - November , busy flowering away . ordinarily by this meter of class it has been knocked back by Jack Frost .
