persist in a strong workings relationship between Provender Nurseries and Capel Manor College the winning design for Regents Park students is Mark Bamford with his intent and presentation selected by the judging board as outstanding .

Mark ’s design was chosen from a short list of 8 designs pick out by reader , Elisa Olivares and Melinda Hilliard , lecturers in plant and engraft at Capel Manor College with the judging control board then given clock time to refresh and take the winning design .

Students do work to a brief ply by Judy Fish , Head Gardener was for the redesign of a bed in Park Crescent , part of the Crown Estate Paving Commission Garden that is open to residents only . The layer selected is sited about to a roadway , south confront and has some shaded area due to exist trees .

The brief give to the students further enquiry into John Nash style planting , as found throughout the private parkland in Regents Park , to echo other parts of the garden space , with a strong conception and a leaning towards drought - tolerant plants .

Mark ’s design was call back by the justice to be in particular strong , with plants selected that direct a Pb from nearby Terrace Garden border and shine the calmness and elegance of the Terrace edifice surrounding the space .

Two small trees provide the upper canopy without disturb the views from surrounding terrace buildings for the residents .   Evergreen cover in the next leaf layer provides secure contrast textures and pollution capture from the route nearby .

Many shrub and herbaceous plants have been repeated throughout the design with a restricted color palette , giving a cohesive spirit whilst providing plenty of color and interest through the seasons .

The evaluator , Liz Hughes , Marketing Manager at Provender Nurseries and Judy Fish , Head Gardener felt that the choice of trees were an interesting addition to the area and particularly liked the selection and mix of shrubs and ferns .   punctuation mark and foliage colour provided by variegated Pittosporum and Euonymus japonicus ‘ Green Rocket ’ where thought to be particularly appealing adding structure to the border design .   All plant take in the invention competition must be selected from Provender Nurseries ’ website .
