Equitable Food Initiative , the workforce development and certificate organization that partners with growers , farmworkers , retailer , and consumer chemical group , announced a two - year , $ 2 million Ulysses Grant from the Walmart Foundation to support the implementation of the Ethical Charter on creditworthy Labor Practices . For this labor , EFI is partnering with The Sustainability Consortium to facilitate growers and provider beef up the direction systems they demand to uphold the principles of the Ethical Charter .
The grant builds on a successful pilot program from 2019 - 2021 with four buyers , 20 provider , and 40 growers that quiz the use of a self - assessment questionnaire and support resources to facilitate growers identify and improve the management systems they need to support robust labor practices .
