“ In most places , the comer of October and its ice chest atmospheric condition signifies the end of the growing season for gardeners . In key Texas , it ’s a bit different . Mild winter with only episodic freezes make this one of the honorable time of the yr for gardening . It ’s a busy time for us as we prep our garden beds andbeginplanting our preferred crops for winter , including beetroot , beans , prickly-seeded spinach and greens of all sort .
