Today ’s photograph are from Teresa Watkins .
experience in tropic horticulture Zone 9b , I ’m always excited to chit-chat my husband ’s family in Taunton , Massachusetts , to envy their Zone 6b garden . This year ’s seven-day family line gathering celebrated the 18 - calendar month , pandemic - delayed wedding of niece Kelly with multiple outings .
My sister - in - law , Jackie , and her hubby , Craig Machamer , have been working on their garden in Berkley for over 25 long time . inspire by Jackie ’s mother - in - law , Ruth , who lived with them , Jackie and Craig learned how to establish seed andtransplantshrubs . Ruth ( who go by away late ) was the ultimate dark-green - thumb home nurseryman . Jackie and Craig have make a beautiful forested acre - and - a - half landscape painting that has been certify as a wildlife habitat . Included in their yard are a seasonal perennial border , container gardens , deciduous trees , bird bird feeder , a firepit , a compost pile , rain cask , and more . A backyard fence - hugging , vagabond rose that belonged to Jackie ’s father was gorgeous and in full rosiness , even after being transplanted from three dissimilar home .

Fauna who did n’t mind take care this afternoon ’s birdie - affluent picnic were cardinal , catbirds , chipmunk , titmice , wrens , and turkeys .
One of my highlights was the inauspicious opportunity to see the withering beech blight disease that has reached Massachusetts and affected three of Craig ’s tree . Sadly , the beech trees will have to be remove .
This vast rambling rose that is loaded with peak covers the fencing . Ramblers are a radical ofclimbing rosesthat can get very large , with a wonderful presentation of with child clusters of low flowers in other summertime .
