Flowers for a Cottage-Style Garden
When I say ‘ cottage - style ’ , I mean a happy hobo camp of flowering perennials . The ones I take for my garden are suited to my growing zona ( 6 ) here in Ontario , Canada , which is a cold climate region with ‘ real ’ winters .
With any plant choices , I strongly commend you become friends with your local university extension office ( or tantamount ) for advice on invasive and recommended plant species . These can be excellent resources for screw which embed to invalidate and those that should do nicely in your garden .

My Cottage-Style Garden
This is my garden during the summertime of 2017 .
It ’s a large ( to me ) 1000 thatstarted with a gage lawnin 2011 . To economise money , I start a lot of plants from germ and circularize from cuttings . This has a list of the industrial plant you could originate from cuttings in each season .
I uprise organically , meaning without the use of any known poisonous substance , weedkiller , insect powder , or other -cides . The soil is as sandy as a beach , or close to it , and plant that flourish tend to circularize a little too easy . My previous garden was hard clay and it took brutal force to even dig the ground , permit alone for plant roots to spread . Now I deal with runaway plant like bee balm and coneflower . Both present challenging growing conditions , but it ’s far easygoing now to tear unwanted plant life out than it was to break shovels just trying to jab holes !
